Seattle Art Museum SHOP: MEET THE MAKER - Mare Blocker
Seattle artist Mare Blocker creates spun cotton figures made in the traditional style of 19th-century German artisans. Cotton fibers are spun around wire armatures, and painted with tempera and ink. They are frequently dressed in exotic papers and ribbon scraps from her Book Arts practice. Each figure is unique and often takes several hours to create.

Join us at the SAM Shop, located on the lower level of the museum, Sunday, November 26 from 12–5 pm to meet the artist and watch her demonstrate her craft! Free and open to the public.
